Best movies of 2011- The must watch movies

Updated on December 29, 2011

Well, to begin with, this list is completely different form the Top Movies Of 2011, there I discussed the top grosser, but in this list I'll discuss about the movies that was received well by both the box office and the critics.

How this list has been made :

First of all, I took the list of top 10 grossing movies, then out of them I ranked the top 5 movies based on critical appreciation and baked out this list.

  • 5. Thor - The movie starring Chris Hemsworth , Natalie Portman did an awesome job at the box office based on its popularity and the critical appreciation. Fortunately, it didn't turn out the way The Green Lantern did. Rotten Tomatoes rating - 77% fresh
  • 4. Fast Five - The fifth installment in the series, this one turned out to be completely different than its predecessors (those were basically of racing genre this one was a heist) and it worked, might be a no brainer, but awesome movie when it came to action sequences. Rotten Tomatoes rating -78% fresh
  • 3. Captain America - "It doesn't try too hard for irony or style; the comic-book sensibility remains pure, square, and happily stupid." - David Denby Rotten Tomatoes rating -79% fresh
  • 2. Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes - This movie, at least to me was a big surprise. The whole journey of an ape from an innocent baby to turning into a ferocious leader was nothing less than amusing. Quite a summer surprise. Rotten Tomatoes rating -83% fresh
  • 1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 - The year 2011 saw the end of the one of the best franchisees ever, i.e Harry Potter. Audience rushed to the theaters to receive their last dose of Pottermania. The movie didn't disappoint a bit. The only thing people were disappointed about was that it came to an end. Rotten Tomatoes rating -96% fresh

Tell me guys about the movies you would have added into this list.
